LMRL coaches and teams travelling to Salmon Arm this weekend for U14, U16, u19 and 18+ Provincial Championships please note that due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the games have been cancelled.

Statement from Ringette BC reads:

March 12, 2020

Dear Ringette BC Provincial Championship Participants,

As you are aware, COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2020. As a result the Provincial Health Officer for the Province of British Columbia, Dr. Bonnie Henry, announced this afternoon that with the escalating risk of community transmission, to protect people in our communities, event organizers are being required to cancel any gatherings larger than 250 people.

With an event of 30 teams, we are following the direction of the Provincial Health Officer and cancelling the 2020 Ringette BC Provincial Championships being held in Salmon Arm this weekend, March 13-15, 2020.

We understand the impact that this scenario has on the ringette community, and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. The health and safety of our players and families, our volunteers, and the rest of the ringette community is our priority. The Ringette BC Board of Directors will work with the host community and the City of Salmon Arm moving forward, and thank them for the tremendous amount of effort that was put into planning this event.

At this time, we are unsure if registration refunds will be available, and will continue to provide further information as it becomes available. Anything to do with the cancellation of accommodations or transportation should be directed to the companies or organizations responsible for providing the corresponding services.

Sincerely,
Nicole Robb Executive Director, Ringette BC
