Indigenous Ringette Program

Chilliwack Ringette Association in partnership with Skwah First Nation, would like to thank the LMRL for it’s support of our association’s Indigenous Ringette Program. The program ran from October 19 to November 23 successfully. There were 25 participants from the age of 13 to17 and the youth went from learning to skate, to learning the rules and strategies of ringette. Funds from the LMRL donation went towards purchasing some more ringette-specific cages and sticks so that the athletes had the proper gear to enjoy the sport safely. The LMRL support was much appreciated and had a major impact on the youth.   It went a long way in helping us achieve our mission of starting an Indigenous ringette program in in Chilliwack and advancing reconciliation for our sport with Indigenous peoples, thank you once again.
