January 21, 2022
In the fall of 2021 Ringette BC released an exemption to the Player Pick-up Policy for the 2021 – 2022 ringette season in an effort to help increase options for player pick up to ensure teams could continue to play games.
There have been a number of participants who are having to isolate due to COVID-19 since the return to ringette in January. To assist teams to continue to play games, participate in ringette, and provide coaches with more player pick up options to help ensure games are able to be played Ringette BC has approved an additional exemption to the player pick up rules effective January 21, 2022 for the remainder of the 2021-2022 ringette season. This exemption will apply at all levels (FUNdamentals to 18+ and Masters Ringette).
Ringette BC will permit for the remainder of the 2021-2022 season:
1. Club teams are able exceed the 5 game player pick up maximum for games,
2. Zone coaches can utilize affiliate players for more than the 10 game maximum without penalty; and,
3. Zone teams may follow the Club Pick Up rules when the affiliates are not available.
This exemption does not apply to 2022 Provincial Championships. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Nicole Robb
